Austin Restaurant Week 2011

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the start of Austin Restaurant Week. For those of you who missed it, ARW is a local Austin event celebrating good dining for a great deal! Like their slogan states, “One city, two weeks, three courses.” And that’s exactly what I had.

I made reservations to five different restaurants: Cuatros, Sullivan’s, Uchi, The Melting Pot, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. I forgot to take pictures are Sullivan’s, which is such a shame because the food was so good! If you ever get a chance, you should go, because their steak is delicious!

Appetizer: Queso Especial

Best queso I’ve ever had! So cheesy and so good!

Entree: Burger For Breakfast

Interesting ingredients on a burger! The egg really made a difference. Delicious!!

Unfortunately, I forgot the names of the appetizers and entrees!!

This one particular appetizer was very fresh and delicious! The sour, citrus sauce topped it!

So far, the BEST fish I have ever eaten! It melts in your mouth. AMAZING

I believe this was pork belly, and I did not like it.

Dessert: Coffee Panna Cotta

I’m not a big coffee fan, but I can eat this all day. The egg looking thing, is actually ice cream. Absolutely amazing.

Dessert: Peanut Butter Semi Freddo

I’m also not a peanut butter fan, but I could not stop eating this dessert. GOOD!

The Melting Pot

Appetizer: Fondue a la France

First time trying fondue, not bad! The bread was so yummy!

Entree: Kobe Beef Sliders

Man, that was good. Kobe beef is yummy!

Dessert: Cookiesn Cream Marshmallow Dream

Dessert: Cookiesn Cream Marshmallow Dream

I love dark chocolate! Great first time experience with The Melting Pot!

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Appetizer: Onion Soup Au Gratin

Personally, I don’t like onion soup.

Appetizer: Steakhouse Salad

The balsamic vinaigrette should have been a bit stronger.

Entree: 6oz. Filet and Shrimp

Mmm good. They filet was crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.

Entree: Salmon

Entree: Side- Green Beans with Roasted Garlic and Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Green beans were nice and crunchy, and the whipped mashed potatoes were delicious.

Dessert: Divine Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese Frosting and Vanilla Ice Cream

I cannot wait til ARW comes again! Follow their Twitter for more updates and details! I love to eat! Didn’t those pictures make you hungry??

  1. Oh my goodness, I’m salivating! I too am a huge fan of restaurant week, and my roommate and I took advantage, although not to the same extent you did (we should have though)! You’ve inspired me to try Uchi, I’ve always heard great things, but the photographic documentation of your meal has set me over the edge, it’s happening STAT!
